Say hello to some top notch Low and No

Say hello to some top notch Low and No

With over a fifth of adults in Great Britain, including a third of those under the age of 25, choosing not to drink alcohol at all, we think it’s safe to say that low and no alcohol options have become a pretty big deal. Gone are the days when a host could expect a teetotal guest to be content with a simple glass of orange juice or, dare we say it, tap water. A plethora of new brands has meant that drinking without the ABV doesn’t have to mean foregoing the drinking experience.

Copenhagen Sparkling Tea

There’s a lot to be excited about Copenhagen Sparkling Tea. You may have heard of the tea sommelier making waves in the booming world of non-alcoholic beverages. Founder Jacob Kocemba has married this thirst for tea with low alcohol and added a sparkle to create organic and unique tea ‘cuvees’ that can be paired with food, used as a component in a cocktail or simply sipped solo.

Try Copenhagen Sparkling Tea’s Vinter for ‘elegant notes of warm winter spices’, perfect for those chilly winter evenings. At 5%, it’s well under half the ABV of your typical red wine. Or, designed to pair with sushi or Thai dishes, Grøn is fresh and crisp with notes of citrus. As the warmer months come into blossom (and who isn’t looking forward to that?) Rød offers the perfect alternative to a sparkling rosé. Or if you’re on the zero ABV then try the recently launched Lyserød which, ‘distinctly dry yet smooth’, is completely non-alcoholic and designed for the savoury kitchen.

Ceder’s Distilled Non-Alcoholic

The advent of small artisanal distilleries has led to gin becoming one of the biggest selling spirits worldwide. With the huge number of potent botanicals that contribute to the creation of a specific gin, it’s no surprise that this is a spirit that lends itself particularly successfully to no ABV. Founded by husband and wife team Craig (South African) and Maria (Swedish), botanicals including Rooibos and Buchu are sourced from South Africa and blended with Swedish water to create an ‘alt-gin’.

So, if you fear skipping the alcohol will mean missing out on your beloved G&T then think again. Ceder’s ‘Classic’ creation, designed using traditional gin botanicals, is ‘floral and balanced’ and perfect paired with a premium tonic. Choose Ceder’s ‘Crisp’ for a ‘refreshing and tranquil’ option with cucumber and camomile, or Ceder's ‘Wild’ for a ‘spicy and intriguing’ take on the classic gin blend.

L'Aperitivo Nonino Botanical Drink

We’re a bit in love with this creation and we think you might be too. If you’ve spent the last few summers rarely seen without a tinkling glass of vibrant orange liquid in your hand (yes you – Aperol devotee) then this could be your new number one. Or if you’ve never boarded the spritz bandwagon then this may be the time to sample something new.

Crafted by Italian sisters Cristina, Antonella and Elisabetta Nonino from 100% natural ingredients, L'Aperitivo Nonino contains no artificial flavours or colour. At 21%, it’s less than half the ABV of your typical spirit and can be sipped on ice or mixed with premium tonic for a delicious and refreshing aperitif.
