Domaine Cuilleron are famed in the Northern Rhone for stunning reds and Condrieu in an impressive portfolio. They're very well known in classic Northern Rhone appellations such as Cote-Rotie and St Joseph. This is the VDP Collines Rhodaniennes - and we think the pedigree of Cuilleron you get a snapshot of their superb wines without paying a premium price tag. This is a brilliant Syrah, with lovely notes on the nose of crushed blackcurrant, black pepper, and leathery notes that you associate with Syrah in cooler climates. The palate is big, with lush fruit of fresh raspberries, cherries, dark blackberry really shining and cracked pepper flavours with good acidity and peppery tannins on a long finish.

Winemaking
The grapes are hand-picked; then sorted and de-stemmed in the cellar. Fermented with native yeasts in open vats. Macerated for about 2 weeks. Spends 8 months in vats and barriques.

Top drawer syrah
Wonderful fresh, full, sappy, peppery, revitalising and life affirming syrah. This is a total joy to drink. I am a big fan of the grape and have tried it from many wine regions of the world but this is the style I always come back to; the sweet black fruit, complexity and savouriness of the grape with no obtrusive oak. For me, a pure expression of syrah.
